Introduction

Post by Pat51 » Mon Jan 12, 2009 2:30 pm

Hi all,

I've been talking about changing the way I eat and exercise for most of my adult life. On January 2nd I ended up in emergency with chest pain, etc. and the doctor told me it was a warning that I need to make "adult" decisions about the way I eat and the fact that I smoke. (smoking was the big one)

I promised myself that I would deal with my weight and smoking and that I would make adult decisions about my health and how long I want to be around.

Today is the first day of my SB journey for my weight. Tomorrow I see my GP (who is a big advocate of SB) to get help with the smoking part.

I'm almost 52 and married for 34 years, have 2 grown married children and 4 grandchildren. I want to be around to see my great-grandchildren (that's a long way off ... LOL) because I'm still young enough to be able to see them!

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell.

Ugh, you'll be sorry you asked about the puppies!!! LOL

Two very spoiled and well loved shih tzu's own both my husband and I!

Maggie is 2 1/2 (she's black and white) and we got her as a 12 week old puppy. We loved her so much, we got another. Theo is now 1 1/2 (we got him when he was 9 months). Theo came from a home with 2 cats, 3 children and a baby on the way. He was definately a good find!

They both have very different personalities (as do most children in one home). Maggie is dominant and lets Theo know every chance she gets that she is the boss and the funny part is ... he lets her, although I'm not sure he has much choice! LOL

Anyway, I won't go on and on and on....thank you for the welcome and for asking about our "babies".

Another welcome! I'm an ex smoker..quit after decades..maybe you won't be glad at first that you quit because it's hard for sure..but you'll be so glad later on. Trust me on that! it's also quite possible to take control of your diet and exercise at any age..and be successful in reclaiming both health and fitness. Welcome aboard!
